That said, I would suggest checking out the VOX Mini Superbeetle. Again, either mic'ing or Line Out works great. All are bone stock, that speaker is just too efficient to mess with. Like (Gil), 15 watts is plenty for most everything I do, and when it wasn't, I've either put a mic in front of it or run from the rear panel's Line Out to a PA. Someday, when I die, mine will be available to someone else.but I've instructed my family to make darn sure I'm fully dead before selling!Īll three are still in good working order, so I won't be greedy and compete with y'all for another one. I rarely see PF15R's available anymore.they're so precious and beloved, that the only way to pry them away from their dedicated owners is to offer them "stupid" money. It was OK, but not a big improvement over the regular 8".and my one 12" cab is almost as easy to carry.Īs to why Vox no longer makes the PF15R, I can only assume they worry that it would cut into sales of the (higher price/profit) AC 10 and AC 15. I even tried, in a stock PF15R cabinet, cramming in a 10" speaker. Fifteen watts is plenty of power for anything I want to do, now, and either one 12" or four 8" are more than adequate. I only got a chance to gig once with it before things shut down, but it sounded MASSIVE. Next, I built a cab myself for another chassis, with four 8" speakers. I have played MANY gigs with this.imagine a solid state AC15 in a more compact (and much lighter) cabinet. I bought it, and enlarged it for a 12" speaker. I first found (on ebay) a custom cabinet made for a PF15R chassis and a TEN inch speaker. (one needs work) Originally I got them primarily for practice and home use, but I quickly realized how great they could be with the right speakers on a gig. I was lucky enough to learn about them years ago on a Vox owners site, and eventually acquired three of them. Click to expand. One of the reasons prices on PF 15R's are increasing is because people (us) keep going on discussion forums and praising them.
